- Scottish Nationals - LLSC: No such luck for the LLSC round on Aug 9/10 as an unfavourable weather forecast meant a postponement. The next scheduled event is the Highlands round on 30-31 August hosted by Highland HG and PG club.
- X-Scotia on TV: The Adventure Show on BBC 2 Scotland will be showing a filmed report of the X-Scotia race which took place in April. (Provisional) Transmission date for the show is 18.00, Sunday 31 August (and possibly Sky Channel 990). Watch for updates on the groups.

Articles
Every month we will publish a new article, if available of course, so the club is always looking for interesting articles on Scottish flying. This month we feature a very relevant discussion on Spring Flying.
There is also an archive of previously published articles, both recent and not so recent (do you remember the Flying Scot?).
Sites Guide
The club Sites Guide provides a list of available sites by wind direction (or wind directions by site) along with the usual general site info.
This is now in the process of being revised and incorporated into the new website with the addition of more sites to the guide. Watch out for the new version when it becomes available.
In the meantime, how about a wee teaser? The best-known LLSC sites are Tinto and Broughton, both near Biggar, but there are also some really good lesser-known sites too. Anyone recognise these? Send your answers to info@llsclub.org.uk
About LLSC
Lanarkshire and Lothian Soaring Club promotes safe flying for paragliders and hangliders in Scotland, and in particular around Glasgow and Edinburgh. Safety comes with experience, and all pilots are encouraged to improve their skills and knowledge through regular club activities including training and coaching sessions.
The club hosts a national forum for all Scottish pilots and those interested in free flying in Scotland.
Flying in Scotland
Scotland is a beautiful country to fly in with surprisingly many different options for such a small area. The current Scottish distance record for a paraglider is 126km, and was cut short due to running out of land! As a whole, there are very few airspace restrictions across the country, with the exception of the Central Belt between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Please ensure you are fully aware of any agreements and potential restrictions in force before you fly.
LLSC is an active member in the Scottish Hangliding and Paragliding Federation (SHPF).
